Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut ($$) Veuve Clicquot is a respected brand that contributed to the popularity of champagne among nobility in the 1700s and 1800s. This particular dry champagne has a moderate flavor intensity, with hints of apple and pear.

Armand de Brignac Gold Brut ($$$) Also known as “Ace of Spades,” Armand de Brignac is currently owned by famed rapper Jay-Z. This “Gold” champagne is comprised of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Meunier. It has notes of peach and apricot, as well as hints of brioche.

Dom Perignon ($$$) This vintage champagne is named after a young monk (Pierre Perignon) who dedicated his life to perfecting his method for wine-making. While tastes vary by year, bottles from 2006 are known to have fruity and floral tones, as well as hints of licorice.

Cristal Champagne ($$$) Cristal has been producing rich, fruity-flavored champagne since 1867. This higher-end champagne is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and is aged for at least six years, giving it its deeper gold color.
