Legend has it that in the late 1940's, a showgirl named Marjorie King stopped by a watering hole near Tijuana, and she had a drinking "problem" of sorts: she was allergic to every form of booze except tequila, which she needed mixed. Among the many tequila experiments that the bartender had tried was a concoction consisting of 3 parts white tequila, 2 parts Cointreau, and 1 part fresh lemon juice. These he shook together in a container of shaved ice, then served up in a short stemmed glass rimmed with lemon juice and salt. This she liked, so he gave the drink the Spanish name for Marjorie: Margarita... and rest is history!

Blue Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • 1 oz Lime juice
  • Coarse Salt

Catalina Margarita
Shake with cracked ice and strain into chilled cocktail or margarita glass.

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Peach schnapps
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • 4 oz Sour mix

Green Iguana Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • 1 oz Tequila (Two Fingers)
  • 2 oz Sweet and sour mix

Peach Margarita
Pour tequila, peach schnapps, and sweet & sour over ice. Add grenadine and stir slightly. The drink should fade from yellow to red. You can also put ingredients in a blender with ice for a frozen version.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Peach schnapps
  • 1 oz Sweet and sour
  • dash Grenadine for color

Watermelon Margarita
Cut up watermelon, removing seeds. Liquify in blender until you have about 16 oz. Add remaining ingredients, top with ice and blend until smooth. Taste and add sugar if watermelon is not sweet enough. This works well with sugar on the rim of the glass.

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz seeded and blended Watermelon
  • 1/2 Lime
  • 6 oz Tequila
  • 3 oz Triple sec
  • 1 tblsp Sugar

Strawberry Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 oz Strawberry schnapps
  • 1 oz Tequila
  • 1/2 oz Triple sec
  • 1 oz Lemon juice
  • 1 oz Strawberries
  • Salt
