Lowenbrau has a long and noteworthy history of brewing tradition and excellence dating back to the year 1383.

This imported beer has come to embody Oktoberfest, Munich's world-famous beer festival, as well as the beer halls that make Bavaria internationally known as the beer lover's capitol of the world.

Lowenbrau Premium Lager and Premium Dark are brewed according to a centuries old German purity law called "Reinheisgebot" which specifies that only specific malts, hops, yeast and brewing water are used to create beer. Just six brands which are truly Bavarian and pledged to this purity law are allowed to participate in Oktoberfest, and one of them is Lowenbrau beer-the very same you can buy here in the United States.

Oktoberfest began in 1810 as a party to celebrate the wedding of the colorful Crown Prince Ludwig. And the party hasn't stopped yet. Six beer tents, one for each Bavarian beer brand, along with carnivals, bands, parades and beer gardens are a few of the sites that make up the beer drinker's ultimate festival. For the 16 days leading up to the first Sunday in October, people from around the world travel to Munich to drink beer, eat sausages and find camaraderie with beer lovers of every shape and size at Oktoberfest.

Whether in Munich or at home, to celebrate in true Oktoberfest style, you should have a Lowenbrau in your hand.
